We have a very pretty addition to the family her name is Camille. Camille married my nephew Callin September 24th. It was a beautiful wedding a wonderful ceremony Camille's grandfather was the pastor. Their friends did a wonderful job decorating the reception hall with twinkle lights woven through grapevine, pumpkins and tissue lanterns. Here are a few pictures I took, I hope you enjoy them.

This one is pretty close to Tim's

This one I did a bit differently...
I used white washed co-ordinations cardstock in a light blue and ran that through my cuttle bug using Tim's snowflake embossing folder- then lightly sanded the snowflakes raised image. I used "twinkle snow" on the snowman to give it an icy look.

Nashville was hot.. 100* and up... Hot with wonderful performances too.
We started our Mother/Daughter week with a Chris Young concert 6/5
and preceded onto Nashville!
Monday evening we attend the "City of Hope" Celebrity Softball Challenge..
The ALL Star line-up pitted the "Grand Old Opry" team vs. the "After Midnight" team.
We cheered on both teams but of course we yelled the loudest for Chuck Wicks on the "After Midnight" team.
The players stayed around to meet with their fans, pose for pics and a little chit-chat

Tuesday we had some fun running around to boutiques and went to a couple of parties.
Wednesday started at breakfast with Chuck Wicks, Chris Young, Joey&Rory and Love&Theft and photo ops and meet & greets.

Next was the block party with a Parade - concerts at the Summet Center

and CMT Awards show-- it all made for a very busy day!

Thursday started out with meet & greets ....

Then..concerts at LP Field...Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldeen, Lady A and Carrie

Friday..call us crazy..we were up very early to get in line to get Julie meet& greet passes..We achieved our goal.. She had passes for Kelli Pickler, Chuck Wicks, LauraBell Bundy, and Jack Ingram!!!

There was much much more.... meet and greets, concerts, parties and pics.. lots of fun and we had a lot of sleep to catch up on when we got home!

What a fun weekend! We had 5th row tickets for the Carrie Underwood "Play On" concert in Toledo. Son's of Sylvia was the opening act followed by Craig Morgan and Carrie as the grand Finale! I now know why Carrie received ACM's FAN voted Entertainer of the Year.

Julie had her boyfriend Andy's away game jersey- the tradition is that the girlfriends where the boys football jersey to school and to the game. The boys will say it's "for luck and team support". I laughed. I think it is to show off who there girlfriend is! Andy said to Julie "You look good in my shirt".. that got me humming the Keith Urban song! Which of course leads to "I wanna Kiss a Girl"

We had some fun this morning.
Chuck Wicks ( he was on dancing with the stars and he sings "Stealing Cinderella") was at Walmart this morning signing cds.
We saw Chuck in Nashville at CMA Fest. We had a funny conversation with him there about his tour schedule and that he was coming to "Carey Fest"
His response was "Carrie Underwood has her own festival!?" We all had a good laugh about that as Carey is a little tiny town. Anyhow that conversation went on for a few minutes and his road manager told us they would be in Findlay this morning- Of course we went to see him. My dd said to me on the way there "Do you think he will remember me?" I had to laugh- I said "with the conversation you two had going I know he will remember you"
She also said she wondered if he would shake hands again she thought that was weird.
When it got to her turn (no handshake for her) he pulled her into a big ole sweet hug. (sorry everyone got handshakes)
I took my scrapbook lo I did of their meeting at CMA Fest for him to sign he said " Wait I wanna look at this" He went through reading the whole thing he was laughing and he said "oh that was a good time"
And he signed my layout :)

The Carter Twins Zach and Josh along with their band put on a terrific show at the Summit Center June 13th. Of course it seemed that every teenage girl within a 100 miles was there for their concert!

Julie had a meet and greet with Zach and Josh Sept 12th... She had to find someone to see since Chris Young wasn't there that day!

We like to see Toby in concert BUT..... We LOVE Chris Young HE should be the number 1 top of the heap Man of the hour! His voice and persona are in a league all their own.
Chris's new cd "The Man I Want to Be " is scheduled to hit the shelves in July and WE can't wait! We are hoping Chris comes with in 100 miles of Findlay soon. We need
a whole live concert again. We joked that Julie had turned CMA Fest into "Chris Young Fest". One of Julie's highlights was talking with Chris' mom Becky and going to Chris' 24th Birthday party.

What does Julie want more than anything for her 16th birthday?
To go to CMA Fest 2009 and to get a "Meet and Greet" with Taylor Swift,
Kellie Pickler, The Carter Twins, Chris Young and Trace Adkins and James Otto and Charles Kelley and... OK she IS turning 16 and at 16 dreams are fun!
I am taking her to CMA Fest 2009. That was her dad's idea, YAY DAD!!
I have to say (after all I am her mom) Julie is a wonderful daughter.
Julie helps out a lot with her brother Alex (who is a spastic quadriplegic)
and keeps her brother Ben "in-line" (no easy task). In between school work,
family and friends Julie spends here time playing her 12 string acoustic and
singing her heart out!
We are looking forward to a few days of fun to celebrate Julie's "Sweet 16"
and hoping to make some dreams come true!

Little Big Town and Josh Turner have been added to the list of performers for the nightly concert series during the CMA Music Festival taking place June 11-14 in downtown Nashville. Little Big Town perform June 12 on a bill with Jason Aldean, Rodney Atkins, Luke Bryan, Lady Antebellum, Jake Owen and the Zac Brown Band. Turner's performance takes place on June 13 with a lineup that includes Trace Adkins, Jamey Johnson, Martina McBride, Lee Ann Womack, Wynonna and a special performance by the Judds. Two additional shows will be held during the series at LP Field, the stadium home of the Tennessee Titans. Appearing June 11 are Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Julianne Hough, Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts and Darius Rucker. On June 14, the show features Jack Ingram, Miranda Lambert, Montgomery Gentry, John Rich and Taylor Swift.
River Front Concerts!!
The lineup for the CMA Music Festival's riverfront stages has been announced. On June 11, performers include the Bellamy Brothers, Diamond Rio, Neal McCoy, Heidi Newfield, James Otto, Randy Rogers Band, Ashton Shepherd, Phil Vassar and Chuck Wicks. The June 12 lineup features John Anderson, Eric Church, Bucky Covington, the Honky Tonk Tailgate Party (featuring Trent Willmon, Jeff Bates, Mark Wills), Randy Houser, Oak Ridge Boys, Jamie O'Neal, Aaron Tippin and Clay Walker. On June 13, performers include Bill Anderson, Keith Anderson, Tracy Byrd, Jason Michael Carroll, Emerson Drive, the Lost Trailers, Jo Dee Messina, Lorrie Morgan and Chris Young. Digging in the Archives...

I came across some "old" pictures of Julie. May I ask who doesn't like to scrap little girls? Actually little anything.. girls, boys, kittens-- I love to scrap little ones! I used Graphic 45 for these projects.

I used a tin I had from "We are Memory Keepers" to make this little box for Julie's room- to shape the handmade flowers I spritzed them with glimmer mist and rolled them around a pencil.

This was a beautiful day to have an early afternoon "music break". We went to listen to the music of Sean McConnell at the university. My daughter loves his songs and acoustic style. We welcomed the divergence from our normal day and thoroughly enjoyed the concert.

It has been a Graphic 45 day!

I love Graphic 45 papers for many reasons. They are a nice heavy weight paper and have a terrific finish. I find their designs both nostalgic and timeless. The best part - the beautifully designed lines are easy to combine. On "Pose" I combined Fashionista ,Times Nouveau ,Playtimes Past and a variety of embellishments to create a layout of something all girls love- playing dress-up. "DREAM" is a picture of my daughter at the "Ryman Theater" in Nashville, Tn it is a medley of Times Nouveau , T!m Holtz and Prima embellishments.

Country Concerts lead to CMA Fest 2009

A year (in review) of Country Concerts- I used the sketch from "Gettin Sketchy" . I decide to use it for some of my little concert picture. My daughter and I had a great time in 2008 going to concerts! We saw Toby Keith, Montgomery Gentry, Jason Aldeen, Lady Antebellum, Matt Wertz, Trailer Choir, Carter's Cord and Mia Roberts. 2009 will be even better, we are heading to NASHVILLE for CMA Festival 2009!! Julie has been busy scoping out the blogs and facebook pages for the tour schedules of her favorites trying to figure out if they will be performing at CMA Fest.. the official list won't be posted until April 1st. If anyone reading this has heard any rumors of who will be there- we would LOVE for you to post them in the comments! We are pretty sure Emerson Drive is going to be there WOOHOO!

CMA Fest 2009

We just got our travel package in the mail for "CMA" Fest. Nashville here we come!
My little girl turns 16 this year and since she is so "into" country music- guitars (she plays 12 string acoustic) and Nashville I am taking her to the Festival! She is already planning- Ice Cream at Mike's on Broadway- Lunch at the "Wild Horse Saloon" and CONCERTS- CONCERTS- CONCERTS!!
She is hoping Toby Keith, The Carter Twins, Billy Currington and Chris Young will be there. The big announcement of who will be appearing isn't until April 1st (I hope that date isn't a bad omen).
I just can't believe my little girl is going to be 16!!!
AND here is a great reason to want to see more TOBY!!!

September 13th 2008.
Julie and I went to "The Blossom Center" in Ohio to see Toby Keith's "Biggest Baddest Tour". It was quite a show. Charter's Cord opened the concert followed by Mica Roberts, and Trailer Choir made way for Montgomery Gentry who put of a fantastic show and TOBY Keith capped it all off with a couple hours of songs and crazy antics- typical Toby.
Julie got to spent the concert at the stage (we had 10th row middle section seats) Julie said "He's amazing". Actually I think he is a little crazy and really knows how to work the crowd (which consisted of a lot of funny drunks. I made quite a few layouts from the fun pictures we took at the concert.

Christmas break was uneventful here. I saw the Tim Holtz tags and was inspired to play with some of my supplies. It was a lot of fun figuring out ways to improvise to come up with some of the same results as the "Tim Holtz" tags. These tags are the results of my playtime. The "Dec 25th" tag is actually a picture of me!

I enjoyed working with "Webster's Pages" for my December Dt assignment. The "Reflections of Nature" line is very soft tones of sage green, terra cotta, dusky blue, lavender and beige. It was a great line for some heritage type photos that were in my collection. I hope you enjoy looking at these layouts.

Julie and I went to "The Blossom Center" in Ohio to see Toby Keith's "Biggest Baddest Tour". It was quite a show. Charter's Cord opened the concert followed by Mica Roberts, and Trailer Choir made way for Montgomery Gentry who put of a fantastic show and TOBY Keith capped it all off with a couple hours of songs and crazy antics- typical Toby.
Julie got to spent the concert at the stage (we had 10th row middle section seats) Julie said "He's amazing". Actually I think he is a little crazy and really knows how to work the crowd (which consisted of a lot of funny drunks. I made quite a few layouts from the fun pictures we took at the concert.

Hi! Our summer trip this year was Julie's choice.. and of course our little song bird chose NASHVILLE, Tn. We all had a great time. The food was yummy, the people were SWEET. And best of all Julie stood on the stage of the Grand Old Opry in the Ryman!
